Children’s Trust Arrangements

The Newcastle Children's Trust is a local partnership that brings together the organisations responsible for serfvices for children, young people and families in a shared commitment to improving children's lives.  These include health, primary care trusts (PCT's), police authorities, local probation boards, youth offending teams, schools, academies, colleges and Jobcentre Plus.  The Children's Trust incorporates all of the arrangements made between these agencies and others, and promotes cooperation between them, in order to achieve improved outcomes for children, young people and their families.

Newcastle Children's Trust has a single outcomes led vision for children and young people, and develops integrated delivery, strategy, planning and commissioning.

The Children's Trust in Newcastle sits within the emerging Wellbeing for Life Board framework (nationally the Health and Wellbeing Board framework).

What is the Children's Trust Board?

In June 2009, the Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership Executive agreed to formally become the Children's Trust Board.

Children's Trust Partnership Handbook

Newcastle has a strong history of working in partnership. Not only have we found that it works but also it is in line with government legislation. The drive and commitment of staff and the support of agencies allow us to deliver more and better outcomes for children and young people in Newcastle. This partnership handbook aims to support the excellent work that already exists and also to assist new partnerships in the early stages of development.
