In June 2009, the Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership Executive agreed to formally become the Newcastle Children's Trust Board.
The Children's Trust Board is the strategic body of the Children's Trust. The Board meets bi-monthly, and has representation from the local authority, community and voluntary sector, schools and the college, police, housing, Jobcentre Plus and health. Other partners can attend the meetings at the request of the Chair of the Board. There is also a Performance Management and Resource Group as part of the Children's Trust governance arrangements and there will be three outcome groups set up to focus on the strategic priorities for 2011 - 2014.Â
Despite Children's Trusts no longer having statutory status, members in Newcastle are committed to the continuation of the work Children's Trust, and the Board. The Newcastle Children's Trust Board will continue to produce, deliver and monitor a Children and Young People's Plan (2011-2014) to set out how partners will work together to make a difference to the life chances and outcomes for children and young people.Â
