Process for taking reports to the Children's Trust Board

The following information explains the process for taking reports to the Children's Trust Board including guidance on consulting with partners about developing strategies and action plans.

The Children's Trust Board has an annual forward plan of business which is maintained by the Children's Trust Officer (louise.appleby@newcastle.gov.uk). This plan is updated at every Children's Trust Board meeting.

Contact the Children's Trust Officer if you wish for items to be included in the Forward Plan. Please check with your line manager that it is appropriate for the report to be sent to the Children's Trust Board. The Children's Trust Officer is also available to provide advice.

  • It is advisable to give as much notice as possible to place an item on the agenda as meetings are very busy.
  • The Children's Trust Board meets on the second Wednesday of every other month.
  • Written reports should be sent to the Children's Trust Board Officer no later than seven days prior to the meeting.
  • If a report is lengthy a summary of no more than 4 sides should be included.
  • There is not a set format for reports but please contact the Children's Trust Officer if you wish to discuss the format.

The following document provides Guidance on Consulting with Partners about Developing Strategies and Action Plans (21.7 KB, pdf)

Reports that are being considered by the Children's Trust Board and the City Council Executive should be received by the Children's Trust Board before they are placed on the agenda of the City Council Executive.
