Family Intervention Programme (FIP)
The Family Intervention Programme (FIP) is targeted specifically at a small group of households demonstrating extreme anti social behaviour. The FIP also works with families at risk of eviction. All families accessing the Family Intervention Project (FIP) have retained their tenancies and there have been reductions in offending behaviour.
What do FIP do?
- Provide enhanced support to families who present anti-social behaviour and are at risk of losing their home.
- Families accepted for the scheme will be offered support in their own homes.
- Work with outside professional agencies.
- Help families with household budgeting skills, general domestic management and advice on safety and security of the home.
- Help families with tenancy matters including neighbourhood disputes.
- Help with parenting skills, self confidence and social skills.
- Help families increase school attendance and work with the school to try to get children back into school following exclusion.
- Help families get involved in organised activities in Newcastle.
