Newcastle has adopted Investing in Children as a way for organisations to demonstrate that they have an active dialogue with children and young people who use the service, and that this leads to change that they think will make a difference to them.
74 organisations have achieved (and maintained) Investing in Children membership by 28 February 2011, including 6 projects for young people with disabilities.
Congratulations to three Newcastle Primary Schools who were recently awarded Investing in Children membership. They have demonstrated that through the process of dialogue with pupils, the young children themselves have been able to bring about positive changes within the school.

Crucially, children and young people have to give evidence that this is the case.
Membership is annual.
The process is funded through the participation strategy, so there is no cost to the project being assessed.
