Maternity Partnership

The remit for the Maternity Partnership is to improve outcomes for maternity service users across Newcastle, Northumberland and North Tyneside.

Key Priorities for 2008

To complement and inform the evolving North of Tyne managed clinical network for maternity services.

To ensure patient views are fed into the commissioning process and to service providers via a Maternity Services Liaison committee (MSLC)

To support service integration so that key national and local targets can be met, including:

  • Smoking in pregnancy
  • Breast feeding
  • Maternity Matters
  • NSF standards

To monitor progress against targets

To share experience across the patch, taking a North of Tyne approach to service development and redesign where appropriate.

Inform the North of Tyne delivery plan.
