Newcastle Safeguarding Children Board (NSCB)

Newcastle Children’s Trust works closely with the Newcastle Safeguarding Children Board (NSCB) which is responsible for coordinating work to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. The NSCB will agree how the different services and professional groups should co-operate to safeguard children in Newcastle, and for making sure that arrangements work effectively to bring about good outcomes for children.

The main functions of the NSCB are:

  • to have primary responsibility for the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children in Newcastle
  • to promote the welfare of children with particular reference to protecting them from harm and neglect
