NSCB has undertaken a review of the 58 recommendations in the Laming Report and identified 29 key recommendations where a local response can be made. Agencies in Newcastle have been contacted and asked to give a self assessment of where they were in relation to recommendations relevant to their agency. The NSCB having considered the responses and the overall Laming report considered the responsibility for future work lay with The Children’s Trust Board and asked the NSCB report be shared with the CTB. Representatives from each organization on the CTB will now work with the NSCB on each recommendation and identify actions specific to their service that will be required in order to meet the requirements of the recommendations. The Laming Action Plan will be reported quarterly to the CTB. (added December 2009)
