A - Z Strategies and Plans

The Newcastle Plan for Children and Young People 2009/10 is our strategy to achieve a significant change in the outcomes for children and young people in Newcastle. We need to make sure that children are better protected. We need to make sure that they are prepared to learn and have the highest standard of opportunity open to them.

The Plan incorporates our final review of the NPCYP 2006/09 and our priorties and plans for 2009/10. The Children's Trust Board decided to produce a one year interim plan for 2009/10 prior to developing a new three year plan for 2010/13 that will meet new statutory requirements for Children's Trusts.

Implementing the Community Engagement Protocol in Children’s Services

Newcastle City Council has recently introduced a policy which will help to streamline the community and stakeholder consultation that is undertaken in the City. This will help to ensure that different parts of the council and its partners work together to gather information, identify whether another similar piece of consultation has taken place and identify resources that may be able to help with the consultation. Further guidance can be found on the Community Engagement Protocols page.
