Youth Voice was created in November 2002 when young people started to discuss issues that mattered to them and how they could be resolved.  They originally started as a small group that talked about their own experiences of being homeless. Since then the group has recruited many new members from various backgrounds, but most have experienced homelessness in some way.
Youth Voice aims to:
A Youth Voice DVD was launched in 2007 to be used in schools, youth projects, and other oganisations, with young people who work with them. Its aim is to provide information about how to get help with housing problems for young people aged under and over 18 in Newcastle. It describes the pathways approach which helps to prevent and address homelessness. Link to the official YHN Youth Voice page.
