The government has launched the new Home Access programme, which aims to deliver computer technology in the homes of those families in disadvantaged areas and unlike previous schemes the equipment belongs to the family.
What is the eligibility for this programme?
If a parent or carer can answer yes to the following three questions in section one, and yes to at least one question in section two below, they could be eligible for a Home Access Grant.
Section 1
Are you a parent or guardian responsible for a child:
Section 2
Do you receive at least one of the following?
Where can parents/carers find out more information?
By calling 0333 200 1004 they will be able to request an application pack.
How will parents be able to purchase the computer equipment?
The grant allows you, if are eligible, to get a compliant package consisting of a computer, internet access, service and support from an approved high street supplier. Parents will be sent a Home Access card to use in the high street, which will be valid for three months from date of issue.
We wish to promote this scheme to families who meet the eligibility criteria set out above in Newcastle, to make sure children and young people are getting the support that they are entitled to.
