More than 130,000 families have applied for free laptops and broadband internet access for their children - just three weeks after the Government launched it's giveaway scheme.
Each low-income family whose application is given the green light receives a Barclaycard, which can be used for a one-off transaction worth ÂŁ528 specifically to buy the equipment at an approved supplier.
Parents who qualify for the scheme can still apply providing they meet the criteria outlined below:
Section 1
Are you a parent or guardian responsible for a child:
Section 2
Do you receive at least one of the following?
Where can parents/carers find out more information?
By calling 0333 200 1004 they will be able to request an application pack.
How will parents be able to purchase the computer equipment?
The grant allows you, if are eligible, to get a compliant package consisting of a computer, internet access, service and support from an approved high street supplier. Parents will be sent a Home Access card to use in the high street, which will be valid for three months from date of issue.
We wish to promote this scheme to families who meet the eligibility criteria set out above in Newcastle, to make sure children and young people are getting the support that they are entitled to.
