interTWINed is a European Youth Drama Festival hosted by Newcastle Theatre Royal this spring, featuring foreign language performances from Sunday 11 - 18 March 2012.
There will be groups of young people aged 13-22 years old from Germany, Eire, Poland, Estonia, Italy, Newcastle and Norway with over 100 young people and 20 staff.
During the week the participants will attend performance workshops, devise a 10 minute theatre piece, present a programme of full length performances and will explore a range of cultural and theatre styles and languages. The Theatre Royal will be talking to local schools, colleges and universities with a view to participating in the festival as volunteers and local schools will be invited to meet the festival performers. Tickets will be on sale to schools and the public.
